At 36"x72", this one takes up a wall. The crop puts you right at the fish's face, spotted cheek, hooked kype, dark water swirling behind. Brown trout have a subtler color palette than most of the fish I paint, but up this close the olive and yellow and blue-gray all start doing interesting things, ESPECIALLY in the sun.
